I recently went to Ulta just to look around and I unexpectedly found this palette. I know this is an old palette and I honestly thought they had discontinued it. But I was lucky enough to get the last one Ulta had for only $20! It contains 12 shadows: 7 mattes and 5 shimmer.
It comes in a faux leather packaging with a decent size mirror. The palette does include a tiny brush that no one uses.
The first two rows.
The last row. I was surprised at how smooth and pigmented these were. If you buy enough palettes then you know that usually purples and blues have the worst pigmentation, but these have great pigmentation.
It Cosmetics had released the Naturally Pretty Matte Vol. 2 Romantics palette a few months back and to be honest I wasn’t very impressed with the colors. Purchasing this was the last thing on my mind, but Ulta got me with their exclusive Platinum Members 24 hrs Beauty Steal sale. They had the palette on sale for only $30 and I still had my 20% off coupon. So I ended up paying around $26. Which was a steal! (The palette regularly costs $42. )
The packaging is the same as the original Naturally Pretty palette, except it’s in a rosy pink velvet material, not plushy.
There are a few true matte shadows, but for the most part they’re closer to being satins. The formulation of the shadows are a lot better than the original palette. These are smoother, softer, and easier to blend. But there are two duds; Devotion (the plum shade) & Trust (the navy shade),they have horrible pigmentation. I even had trouble building the color up during my swatches.
Overall, the palette is great. I experienced very little fall out and they lasts all day! Some of the shadows even reminds me of the Lorac Pro’s shadows! I’ve been loving this palette, especially with my Anastasia Self-Made palette. Definitely go out and get this if you’re looking for a good everyday matte palette.
